Step Town Hotel sits in the quiet suburbs of central Kigali, a quarter of an hour from the airport. The Genocide Memorial, the central market, restaurants, banks and government offices are all within walking distance.

We built the hotel for business travellers and safari-goers alike, and we look after both the same way: as genuine hosts. Everyone here plays a part in your stay, from the front desk to the kitchen to the housekeeper turning down your bed.

Breakfast arrives at sunrise: fresh fruit from the local market, hot omelettes, and juice and coffee on the balcony when the weather allows. There are always vegan options.

In the evening our chef cooks Rwandan classics: smoky brochettes, grilled tilapia and isombe, made with pounded cassava leaves. If you'd rather stay in, room service runs around the clock.
